Inspired by blue

hydrangea

refugee from a greenhouse

stripped of her leaves

flourishing out of season

recipe for flower shame

yet….

standing in blue strength

she stands in blue strength

delicate hearts

shining out

from bract centers

certain of her beauty

certain of her place

at ease with her

naked incongruity

I envy her

raw, ugly-strong stem

no questions

no worries

just purple-blue glory

rising over rugged stem

being beauty

because she is
